Most business websites are not bad. They are just quiet. They look fine, say roughly what the business does, and bring in nothing. Visitors arrive from Google or a WhatsApp link, scroll for a few seconds, and leave without calling.

After building sites for shops, clinics, restaurants and service companies, we see the same handful of things decide whether a visitor becomes a customer. None of them are about how modern the design looks.

1. One obvious next step on every page

Ask what you want a visitor to do: call, message on WhatsApp, book, or ask for a quote. Then make that one action impossible to miss on every page, including on a phone with the thumb at the bottom of the screen. Sites that offer six equal options get fewer of all of them.

2. It answers the first three questions in five seconds

Who are you, what do you do, and where? If a visitor has to scroll past a slogan and a stock photo to find out that you repair air conditioning in Hawally, you have already lost half of them. Put the plain answer at the top, in the language the customer searches in.

3. It is fast on a phone, not just on your office computer

Most visitors are on a phone, often on mobile data. A page that takes six seconds to load loses people before they see anything. Compressed images, no autoplaying video at the top, and a layout that does not jump around while loading matter more than any visual effect.

4. Arabic and English done properly

If your customers speak both, your site should too. That does not mean translating the English page word for word and flipping it. Arabic pages need right-to-left layout, Arabic typography that is comfortable to read, and copy written the way people actually search and speak.

5. Proof that other people trusted you

Reviews, client logos, photos of real work, how long you have been in business. One honest line from a real customer does more than a paragraph about your values. Put it near the call to action, where doubt is highest.

6. Written so Google understands it

Google reads the text on your pages to decide which searches you fit. A page titled “Home” with “Welcome to our website” tells it nothing. Page titles, headings and text that say what you offer and where you offer it are the foundation of being found in search later.

What to avoid

Before you redesign

Check your current site against the six points above on your own phone. If it fails three or more, a redesign will pay for itself. If it passes most of them, you probably need better visibility on Google rather than a new site.

If you want an outside opinion, we build websites around exactly these points and will tell you honestly which you need.
